"Opened by sisters Aminata (Ami) and Rougui Dia at Belleview Station, this Parisian-inspired bistro blends the sisters’ Senegalese roots and Parisian upbringing with Rougui’s fine-dining experience at Paris’s Michelin-starred Petrossian5. It offers classic daytime fare—ham-and-cheese crêpes, croissants, quiche du jour, buckwheat crêpes, salads and a tuna-on-brioche sandwich—along with grab-and-go options to serve the local business community. Evenings shift to a more refined but still affordable modern French menu (the highest dinner entrée tops out at $32 for the duck breast) featuring West African–inspired fusion dishes such as a rabbit wrapped in phyllo with foie gras, beef feet and mushrooms in an orange-tamarind sauce, and a fresh take on boeuf bourguignon served with a turnip raviole. Desserts come from a repurposed daytime bakery counter turned dessert bar for small pastry samplings paired with wine or cocktails, and a mid-afternoon “delightful hour” tea service offers a tea cart with sweets, savory hors d’oeuvres, sandwiches and discounted drinks. The sisters aim to recreate the feel of a Parisian corner café—patio seating, music and a modern bistro ambiance—while keeping meals accessible in price; the logo, designed by Studio Atlantis, features the profiles of two women to symbolize their partnership." - Georgina Rupp
