"This restaurant’s tagline is “really good American food,” and we concur. The Roadhouse sources its produce and cheeses from local farms and artisan creameries, resulting in exceptional quality. There are many nods to Southern cooking — including house-smoked meats and owner Ari Weinzweig’s pimento cheese spread. Other good bets include thoughtfully constructed salads, a rotating selection of fresh oysters, and an unforgettable mac and cheese tossed with spit-roasted smoked chicken, corn, and green chiles — all of which are, indeed, “really good.” It’s no wonder, the James Beard Awards committee gave serious consideration to Zingerman’s Roadhouse in 2019.
