"A color-splashed micro cafe with a spunky personality, I found Matryoshka Coffee to be an extremely Instagram-worthy 300-square-foot spot on the south side (opened quietly in December) that’s been making pink, sparkly waves on social media. The menu leans playful — Pop Rock–infused espresso drinks, nostalgic items like hot cup noodles and Lucky Charms breakfast cereal, and vegan pastries from Yellow & Lavender — and owner Abbey Chiavario dreamed up a conversation-heart coffee collaboration for Valentine’s season; Matryoshka’s off-menu “kiss me” is an iced mocha with sweetened pink cold foam, strawberry dust, and glitter, and $1 from each sale goes to local TN Black-led grassroots organization @theequityalliance." - Delia Jo Ramsey
