"I note that Tim Ho Wan earned a Michelin star after opening in 2009 in Hong Kong’s Mong Kok district and has since expanded to almost 50 locations in nine countries (including two in New York City, one in Hawaii, and another slated to open in Long Beach). Co-founded by Mak Kwai Pui (formerly a chef at the three-Michelin-star Lung King Heen) and Leung Fai Keung, the restaurant refers to itself as “the world’s most inexpensive Michelin-awarded dim sum restaurant.” The menu highlights mentioned include barbecue pork buns, rice rolls, pan-fried turnip cakes, sui mai (steamed dumplings), har gow (shrimp dumplings), and steamed egg cake, and Mak plans to create a special dish just for the Palms location; the Palms site is described as a 5,055-square-foot Cantonese dim sum restaurant in the resort’s new western-side casino expansion with a planned third-quarter 2019 opening." - Susan Stapleton
