"A new restaurant with a rather bizarre name plans to open in the former home of Marlowe’s on the 16th Street Mall; its website for West of Surrender Saloon & Kitchen is live but contains virtually no other details, though it says experienced servers and bartenders are currently being hired. The site frames the name as a nod to mid-to-late 1800s western migration—describing an identity of leaving failure behind, being beyond giving up, too late to turn back, and chasing chance—and Westword wondered if it might be Denver’s worst restaurant name. LinkedIn indicates Scott Burnham will be the executive chef and partner, and he previously worked at Parisi, Le Merise, Randolph’s and the Greenbriar Inn." - Paul Albani-Burgio
