Pequod’s Partners With a Charity Pop-Up Dynamo on Its First-Ever White Deep-Dish Pizza | Eater Chicago
"In its 54-year history the pizzeria has allegedly never offered a white pie; I learned Pequod’s Pizza — with deep-dish locations in Lincoln Park and suburban Morton Grove — is known for the savory, caramelized rings of crust that surround its pies. Sausage and pepperoni are the top sellers, and management says they’ve never regularly served a pie without tomato sauce, regardless of personal preference — even pineapple. This May the Lincoln Park location will host a weekly collaboration: every Thursday I can order Billy Zureikat’s deep-dish Tripping Billy as a carryout (built on a creamy shishito-pepper sauce with corn, mozzarella, cheddar, and pickled jalapeños), with proceeds supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association; Zureikat has raised $50,000 for MDA through various Tripping Billy pop-ups, and the two parties hope to expand the partnership depending on demand." - Ashok Selvam
