"Set in Griffintown, MR-63 will open on July 19 for a seasonal run through September 15 and occupies two iconic blue Montreal metro carriages on the corner of Peel and Ottawa streets. It's a public space fully open to everyone — whether or not they’re customers — combining a bar and café with a large terrasse and a family play area. One carriage will be converted into a gourmet épicerie showcasing Quebec products (and will sell Quebec craft brews, juices, and coffee and host a barbecue), while the second carriage will focus on cultural events, able to host screenings, exhibitions, conferences, and workshops. Hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. This two-carriage setup is the first phase by Étienne and Frédéric Morin-Bordeleau (they own eight carriages), and by late 2021 the corner should morph into a full three-level cultural hub that incorporates the metro cars while keeping the bar and coffee shop." - Tim Forster
