"After an appeal to the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, modern Irish bar Casements won the right to keep its back patio open until 11 p.m.; the city’s Planning Commission had initially allowed the patio to remain after the Shared Spaces program, but a strict 10 p.m. curfew and the program’s expiration on March 31, 2023 led to a downturn in business, owner Sean O’Donovan said. As part of a new agreement, Casements agreed not to play amplified music after 10 p.m. (including weekends), to meet a series of soundproofing requirements, and to accept that the authorizations can be revoked if it does not comply." - Dianne de Guzman
