"I'm excited that the stylish, late-night Chinatown favorite is opening a second location in Central Square at 425 Massachusetts Avenue, slated for mid-April; fans can expect the same hit dishes that put the original on the map — including the Shojonator burger and bao stuffed with pork belly and bulgogi beef — plus eight new Southeast Asian–influenced dishes from culinary director Jason Hua such as a shaking beef bao and a beef curry mazemen. I see the team positioning it as a fun late-night stop (they plan to eventually keep the bar open and slinging cocktails until 2 a.m. on later nights), and the expansion follows owner Brian Moy’s 2012 launch in Chinatown, where Shōjō built a reputation for ambitious cocktails matched with modern, playful pan-Asian fare; Moy also operates a Logan Airport outpost and other nearby projects." - Erika Adams
