Three Restaurants to Try This Weekend in New York: October 18 | Eater NY

"Opened barely two weeks ago on the Upper East Side, I found Tikal Mayan Food in a large, brightly lit dining room that looks fast-casual but, given its lengthy menu and level of execution, feels more ambitious. One enchilada ($6.25) is surprisingly surmounted by Guatemalan Chinese chow mein — a wheat-noodle stir-fry with carrots, chicken, onions, herbs, and chiles — with the toasty taste of a just-fried homemade corn tortilla shining through; it's unforgettably good, though be careful to hold it over your plate because the noodles sometimes tumble off on the first bite." - Robert Sietsema
