"Coming to Arsenal Yards in Watertown, the new Shake Shack will be the chain’s sixth Massachusetts location and is expected to open sometime in 2019. The Watertown spot will feature all the favorites from other locations — the classic burger and crinkle-cut fries — and will also offer frozen custards made in conjunction with local businesses, with a cut of proceeds going to local Watertown charities. The chain crossed the 100-location threshold in summer 2016 when it opened its Seaport location, three years after debuting in Massachusetts in Chestnut Hill, and it also operates on Boston’s Newbury Street, in Cambridge’s Harvard Square, and at Legacy Place in Dedham. Founder Danny Meyer has spoken about his love for the Boston dining scene (citing meals in Chinatown and favorites like Eastern Standard, Sportello and Flour Bakery), and Shake Shack leadership says they target cities that care about food; Andrew McCaughan, the company’s vice president of development, called East End Watertown “a unique, culturally rich community” and said they’re thrilled to move into the neighborhood." - Terrence Doyle
