"I found a bright, airy spot now open to welcome Spring Valley residents, operating daily from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m., with plans to launch a “grab n’ go” counter soon. Located inside a stand-alone office complex at the corner of Fort Apache and Oquendo Road, the self-described “modern cafe” debuted coffee, breakfast and lunch menus that include juices, teas like the London Fog and Japanese matcha, and a full range of coffees including flat whites, chai, macchiatos, and lavender lattes. Breakfast and brunch offerings range from a three-egg frittata and a “rise and shine acai bowl” to toast served with Pacific smoked salmon and griddle items such as strawberry French toast and coconut pancakes. Lunch features cornflake-crusted wings, savory chive waffles, an 8-ounce rib-eye steak and eggs, salads that can be upgraded with chicken, salmon, or steak, and sandwiches and burgers like the “Fun Guy,” made with grilled portabella, fried parmesan eggplant, fire roasted peppers, arugula, and balsamic aioli." - Bradley Martin
