"A Chinatown restaurant that's been operating since 1988 will close at the end of the month after owner De Han Ma—who has owned the spot since 2008—couldn't reach a lease-renewal agreement with the landlord, according to a “community leader familiar with the situation.” Ma “made [the restaurant] a go-to spot for har gow shrimp dumplings and other dim sum staples,” and was “known affectionately in the community as Mr. Ma,” with his family making it “a destination brunch spot for dim sum.” The owner also operates a second location in Tacoma that will be unaffected by this closure. Jeff Liang, head of a local business advocacy group, said, “This is largely due to a lease issue.”" - Harry Cheadle
