"The downtown modern Chinese restaurant closed down its second location up north on October 11. The shuttering happened because its parent company Chameleon Hospitality was acquired by an unnamed restaurant group run by private equity, per the Instagram post. The post also notes that Chameleon’s managing partner Stuart Thomajan — who had been the founder of the company — is leaving. The company’s other restaurants, the original Wu Chow and New American restaurant Swift’s Attic will remain open. The post also shares that the new owners “will expand their current concept’s footprint,” which implies it’ll turn this space into a new restaurant. This location of Wu Chow opened in May 2023; before that, it was Chameleon’s American restaurant Rosedale Kitchen and Bar, and before that, seafood restaurant Guild, all under the Chameleon group." - Nadia Chaudhury
