"I'm reporting that, opening March 2 at the Fifth + Broadway development in downtown Nashville, Blanco Cocina + Cantina — the eighth location of Sam Fox’s Phoenix-born, modern Sonoran-style Mexican restaurant and the brand’s first in the South — will serve tacos and tequila drinks and precede the development’s first phase on March 4. The nearly 5,000-square-foot space, led by General Manager Brandon Katz and Nashville native executive chef Justin Eaton, features sweeping open windows overlooking the action on Broadway and a laid-back party vibe, and the team is hiring 75+ staff. The menu includes burritos, enchiladas, fajitas, chimichangas, and cheese crisps, plus highlights like jalapeño-spiked hamachi, watermelon ceviche with pomegranate seeds, and creative tacos on hand-made tortillas such as a carne asada paired with scallion relish, crushed avocado, and spicy garlic butter. The bar will offer tequila and mezcal flights, vacation-inspired cocktails, and margaritas crafted with house-made sours and fresh-squeezed juice. Starting March 2 the restaurant will be open Mon–Thu 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Fri 11 a.m.–midnight, Sat 10 a.m.–midnight, Sun 10 a.m.–11 p.m. (pending city curfew changes); weekend brunch begins at 10 a.m., there’s a weekday happy hour from 3–6 p.m., and dine-in, pick up, delivery, and online ordering will all be available." - Delia Jo Ramsey
