"At the Central District Black art and community center Wa Na Wari, I found it celebrating Black History Month with new exhibitions by Black artists, poetry and visual art events, and free African food for pickup from Black chefs. Food for pickup is available every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. through March; the program is meant to serve the community and promote local Black chefs and their cuisines. In February, chef Andrew Hype cooks Jamaican dishes on Tuesdays, Lakea Osias serves New Orleans cuisine on Wednesdays, and Tina Fahnbulleh of pop-up Gold Coast Ghal Kitchen makes Liberian and Ghanaian food on Saturdays; the March chef lineup is to be announced. No pre-order is necessary—just show up and eat." - Jade Yamazaki Stewart
