"The trio behind Electric Burrito is opening a new restaurant at 135 First Avenue between East Nine Street and St. Marks Place on Thursday, February 27, next door to its burrito stand. The fast-casual American menu features a pair of burgers on potato buns sourced from a bakery in Massachusetts (not Martin’s): a regular two-patty cheeseburger and a signature burger described as an ode to In-N-Out Burger with American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and a special sauce; a vegetarian version uses Impossible patties. Also on the menu are hot dogs, fries, and the dill-pickle queso. Partners Will Wyatt and Edie Ugot join Alex Thaboua; as Thaboua says, “It’s something we’ve had in the back of our minds since before we opened Electric Burrito,” says Alex Thaboua of the opening. The 290-square-foot space has a standing counter for dine-in service, will offer third-party deliveries, and will have late-night hours — staying open until 1 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 3 a.m. Friday and Saturday." - Nadia Chaudhury
