"In NDG I checked out Crusty's, a flashy new fast-food spot at 5899 Sherbrooke Street West opened by Occupation Double alums Rym Nebbak and Chris Robbins (they were contestants on season 13, set in South Africa and aired in 2020) with additional backers listed including Ali Sekar of Tasty Mtl. The menu leans into excessively cheesy, over-the-top comfort food: burgers brimming and dripping with sauces; chicken tenders dusted in Doritos, Cheetos, or chipotle; and a so-called "signature cup" — a drinking glass overflowing with melted cheese, a creamy sauce, julienne chip sticks and, underneath, fried chicken, popcorn shrimp, or beef. The decor is a pastiche of Americana — Marilyn Monroe and Elvis posters, a retro-looking Coca-Cola clock, roadside signs, a gas pump and the boot of a yellow vintage car — giving a Drive-Ins, Diners, and Dives, Guy Fieri-style vibe. For OD fans, they're planning to screen the show's current season on-site, and this week Crusty's is open from 3 to 9 p.m. (hours subject to change)." - Valerie Silva
