"From the kitchen vantage point I watch co-owner Tara Reaves see diners rise and walk to the semi-private nook at the front where Chase Buttice, a self-described modern mystic, runs a weekend-brunch residency of quick astrology readings. Waitstaff offer a signup sheet and readings run about 10 to 20 minutes at $1 per minute (the restaurant takes no cut); Buttice is usually fully booked, often reading entire tables, groups of friends, or families one person at a time. Reaves says these sessions frequently prompt emotional exchanges and provide perspective, comfort, and confidence — Buttice focuses on positive, uplifting insights, asking birthdate, time, and location and offering intuitive hits about things like karmic patterns, wounds, talents, and life purpose so people leave feeling inspired and eager to share what they discovered. Buttice’s appearances are promoted as monthly special events rather than weekly, and while she normally works privately or at parties she had not worked with a restaurant before; the collaboration began after Reaves experienced a “feel-good” reading and suggested a residency.
