"Transforming the same venue into a cocktail bar with live house music, Secret Grove will start music around 5 p.m. on days it’s open and program varied nights — Thursday leaning toward jazzy R&B and house, Friday showcasing local acts plus Latin house and reggaeton house, and Saturday as the “flagship” night focused on minimal, tribal, and Afro house — with longer-running theme nights like Vibru aiming for a laid-back, dance-friendly vibe. The evening menu will tilt Latin American, emphasizing agave spirits and aguardiente, and include approachable, music-friendly drinks such as the Verbena (gin, cranberry, and ginger ale). Secret Grove grew out of Daniel Maloney’s history of underground parties and pop-ups and intends to be a communal space where people can enjoy music and be social; the physical layout includes communal bench seating designed by Colombia’s Julio Jimenez, and some dishes served at the bar will be specific to the concept." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden
