"Housed in a 20,000-square-foot space at 24 Buxton Avenue that underwent a seven-month buildout in the former Eagles Nest Outfitters, this downtown South Slope location functions as a tasting room, production hub and company headquarters. It pours about 15 in-house craft ciders (with a plan to keep 20 on tap eventually), nine Asheville craft beers and a nitro coffee, and the ciders themselves are aged at least eight months using Hendersonville apples and a variety of yeasts. Regular hours are Mon 2–10 p.m., Tue–Thu 2–11 p.m., Fri–Sat noon–midnight and Sun noon–10 p.m. The grand-opening celebration kicked off Oct. 27 with live music (including Armadilla and headliner Special Affair), surprise entertainment, staff in cider-themed costumes and guests encouraged to wear costumes, and the outdoor stage—dubbed Asheville’s Fun Depot Stage—hosts free shows as part of the venue’s programming. The expansion also supports increased production capacity compared with earlier years." - Katie Toussaint
