"Award-winning chef Vivian Howard is opening a new waterfront restaurant at the Sanderling resort in Duck, North Carolina as the beachfront property reopens after winter renovations to mark its 40th anniversary. Serving as the resort’s anchor restaurant, the menu will be rooted in the Outer Banks—drawing on salt marshes, fishing boats, recipes passed down, and island-inspired flavors—to showcase Howard’s inventive approach to Southern cuisine. The restaurant is named for Aaron Burr’s daughter; her disappearance at sea during the War of 1812 and the local lore that her ghost haunts the area help shape the waterfront setting and the venue’s narrative.
