"Opening its first California location in Victorville on Feb. 5, this Cracker Barrel drew long lines immediately — I saw reports of lines already forming and grits hitting tables as fast as they could. It's been one of the most anticipated chain openings for transplants missing a taste of home and for travelers making the drive between Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and it leans into Southern hospitality with a menu of grits, biscuits, and big slabs of bacon. An attached Country Store offers everything from trinkets to rocking chairs, and the dining room walls are lined with vintage accoutrements like farm signs and old newspaper ads. The Victorville location keeps daily hours from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. (11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday), and the company is reportedly exploring other California sites, including the Central Valley." - Farley Elliott
