"Located at 660 S King St., I found Sizzling Pot King's new Chinatown-International District location emphasizes the smoke- and chile-infused flavors that set Hunan food apart. The menu mirrors the Bellevue restaurant and is built around the signature dry pot dish, where you pick a protein—ranging from bullfrog to beef tongue to Hunan-style duck—along with vegetables, flavorings, and heat level. The second half of the menu focuses on Hunan specialties such as steamed whole tilapia with Hunan pepper, spicy crab, and crawfish. Co-owner Dun Newton Lin says the menu “reflects contemporary Hunan cooking and dishes, as the cuisine has evolved and incorporated culinary influences from other regions, such as the sophistication of Cantonese cuisine and a little of the spiciness of Sichuan cuisine.” The restaurant began in San Diego in 2014, expanded to the Bay Area, opened in Bellevue in March, and has now opened this Chinatown-International District outpost over the weekend." - Megan Hill
