"A highly regarded London udon restaurant is launching a nationwide, mail-style service that sends flat-packed, vacuum-sealed udon noodles and dashi designed to fit through a letterbox. The Royal Mail–inspired packaging features the restaurant’s house logo with a crown in red and white and is printed with “omiyage” as a nod to the Japanese gift-giving custom. Owned by Shuko Oda and John Devitt, the team already offers takeaway and delivery from its Soho and Bloomberg Arcade locations and via the Dishpatch platform; the new, minimalist nationwide offering initially includes only udon and dashi, with the possibility of adding toppings—such as the signature pork miso—or recipes supplied by Oda in future. Each package is portioned for two, has a refrigerated shelf life of one week, and can also be frozen." - Adam Coghlan
