"After expanding from its first Los Angeles brick-and-mortar at Culver City's Platform in 2018, I note that Brooklyn-based Roberta’s Pizza opened a twelfth global outpost on August 31 at the Shops at Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City. The wood-fired, pizza-heavy menu lists more than 10 pies, including longtime favorites like the Bee Sting, Cheezus Christ, and Famous Original as well as seasonal options such as the Sungold tomato-and-garlic-topped Normcore. There are just a few simple sides—housemade stracciatella; green lettuces with pumpkin seed and sea lettuce vinaigrette; caper-studded breadcrumbs; and fiore sardo—with additional sides coming. The space mirrors the playfully minimalistic Culver City decor and speckled floor but operates as an order-at-the-counter setup that doesn’t offer beer or wine (it does have plenty of sodas), and it’s open daily from noon to 9 p.m." - Karen Palmer
