Former San Francisco Restaurant Reclaims Michelin Star in Edinburgh | Eater SF
"When a one-Michelin-starred restaurant closed its Fillmore District location at the end of 2023, chef Rodney Wages relocated his fine-dining outfit and his family to Edinburgh; the timing of the reopening meant the restaurant was not initially qualified for Michelin consideration in the United Kingdom. Glasgow World reports the restaurant has re-earned its Michelin star just over a year after the move, with Wages winning a star in a second country at the Michelin Guide Ceremony Great Britain & Ireland 2025—clear evidence that the gamble paid off for the chef. The simple new restaurant, located one story below ground on an otherwise unremarkable street in the capital city, presents the right atmosphere for the dishes Michelin praised, including Orkney scallop with pineapple jus. The Kansas native hasn’t forgotten where he cut his teeth, though: a huge painting of Godzilla taking the Golden Gate Bridge by storm hangs on the wall.
