"At the Cookout I enjoyed open-fire grilled meals offered as one of the best bargains at the fest — $15 plates by top local chefs — and the standout for me was the China Poblano carnitas tacos plate: three corn-tortilla tacos filled with tender, smoky braised pork, stuffed with cilantro and onions, served with salsas and heavily seasoned chips (a tart, salty pepper blend); dipping the tacos into both the hot tomatillo salsa and the creamy avocado salsa made for an ideal, satisfying lunch while listening to the neighboring Huntridge stage, and it’s hard to beat a Jose Andres original at that price point." - Janna Karel
