Best Bakeries in Austin With Best Pastries | Eater Austin

"The Arabic bakery in North Lamar is all about the baklava, which is sweet and savory and texturally fun with pistachios and sticky layers of phyllo pastries. There’s also a beautiful array of other pistachios-and-nuts-laden sweets, from the nest-like mabrouma, to the madloukah (pudding topped with nuts). The knafehs (soaked pastries with a filling layer) are also just as great, especially the cheese, as well as the katayef (folded filled pastries), such as the cream. Takeout orders can be placed in person; there are indoor dine-in areas." - Nadia Chaudhury
