"Possibly the least contrived multicultural-themed hot spot in the city, Hawkers really feels like a casual Singapore or Taiwan restaurant. It started off as a labor of love and evolved into a neighborhood beacon of eclectic eats. The prices are already reasonable, and happy hour brings them down to $3 for small plates like summer rolls and roti canai (Malaysian-style flatbread). Drinks-wise, our favorite hour brings $3 Kirin and sake bombs, and $4 house wine. The bar is tiny — more of a place to stand while you’re waiting for a table than actually hang out — but happy hour is also available in the dining room or on the patio." - Vox Creative
