"Opened on November 10 at 185 Talbot Ave. in Dorchester, this farm-to-plate Caribbean American restaurant grew out of a Boston catering and food-truck operation and a stint in the CommonWealth Kitchen incubator. Founded by Cassandria Campbell and Jackson Renshaw after crowdfunding and small loans, the team pivoted during the pandemic from catering to at-home meal delivery, honed a creative menu in shared kitchen space, and ultimately secured a permanent location after outgrowing the incubator. The kitchen reflects a global staff—including a Jamaican American founder, a Haitian chef, a Southern U.S. chef and team members from Cape Verde, the Dominican Republic and Montserrat—producing a cultural fusion showcased in fan favorites like jerk chicken and kale salad alongside pineapple salsa, empanadas, Jamaican escovitch and duck confit. The owners emphasize community ties (near Codman Square and the Urban Farming Institute, with many staff living within walking distance), openness to collaborations and pop-ups with fellow entrepreneurs, and continued operation of the food truck, catering and delivery services; limited indoor countertop seating is available now, with a 30-seat patio planned for April 2022, and future plans include brunch, a liquor license and holiday meal packages announced via Instagram and the company website." - Eater
