"Inspired by the street fare in her native city of Bangkok, chef Nittaya Parawong’s casual offshoot of local favorite Nittaya’s Secret Kitchen now has a “grand opening” date. Designed with a rustic and industrial interior, Block 9 Thai Street Eats will fill 2,012 square feet at the Retail Trails center, close to the corner of Town Center Drive and the 215 and will officially launch on Monday, April 9. It sits around the corner from the recently debuted Peet’s Coffee cafe. All the dishes at the counter-service concept are priced below $12 and can be pre-ordered online for easy pick-up. The handy feature also allows customers to view a photo of each item before placing an order. Among the choices, two specific favorites have brought over from her original restaurant, the $8 “world famous spinach salad,” and the $4 “Nittaya’s bread pudding.” They join choices such as fried mussels, pad Thai, panang beef, red, green, or yellow curry, Thai barbecue pork, basil chicken, and grilled pork skewers. Plus, Thai iced tea, hibiscus lemonade, and coconut ice cream or banana rolls for dessert. Opening hours have yet to be announced." - Bradley Martin
