"38 & Vine, a new wine bar boasting dozens of self-serve varietals from across the globe, has officially opened its doors in Fort Worth. The bar arrived on January 9 at 212 Carroll Street, Suite 130, in the Foundry District. It’s a little bit different than the typical wine bar, where bartenders help patrons select a wine and then pour them a glass — here, drinkers will buy a card that they can swipe at any of the self-serve wine stations to order a “sip,” or one-ounce pour, or “taste,” a three-ounce pour. Typical 6-ounce glasses will also be available. As far as the grapes are concerned, expect 42 different reds, whites, and roses from the world’s biggest wine-producing regions. Fancier wines, known here as “cellar selections,” will be sold by the bottle, ranging in price from about $50 to $200. A menu of snacks like crostini toasts, salads, and lushly arranged cheeseboards will be on offer to help soak up all the booze, along with towering cakes." - Amy McCarthy
