"After 25 years on La Cienega, I learned that Le Petit Bistro has closed for good. This location first opened in 1993 along La Cienega and quickly became a neighborhood fixture known for classic bistro dishes such as escargot and roasted chicken. Owners Georges and Ronaire Lachkar, who have been operating restaurants since 1971, once ran three Le Petit Bistro locations around Los Angeles. In a note to diners they wrote that 'it is with a heavy, but very grateful heart' that they announced the closure, expressing deep gratitude to loyal friends, family, and patrons and saying how much they will miss seeing customers night after night and the family feel the bistro fostered. Ownership of the space appears to have transferred to Joel Herzer (formerly co-owner of Joe’s in Venice) and initially Tom Eads of The Taste Group, and the new restaurant is to be called Tom’s Place; an update notes Eads will not be part of the project." - Farley Elliott
