All-Outdoor Restaurant Pops Up at the Fairmont Grand Del Mar | Eater San Diego

"I visited the Del Mar Social Club, an outdoor pop-up on the Grand Lawn of the Fairmont Grand Del Mar that grew out of the hotel's popular Fireside Lounge and is running through October with potential to continue beyond. The expanded open-air setup spans 10 cabanas, eight fire pit-topped tables and a 24-foot communal table; cabanas and fire pit tables offer full service and can be reserved online with free parking and no booking fees, while walk-ins are accepted at the self-service communal table. The walk-up bar features a rotating roster of frozen cocktails, customizable spritzes made with sparkling rosé and your choice of aperitif, and a Bees Knees made with saffron and honey from the hotel's on-site hives. The open, interactive kitchen centers on a wood-fired oven and serves roasted spot prawns, whole Dungeness chile crab, Neapolitan pizzas, fresh oysters, and s'mores kits to cook at personal fire pits. There are lawn games and tabletop games (including table foosball and sling hockey) available on request, and the pop-up hosts some sort of live entertainment every day it's open; initial hours are Thursday–Friday 4 p.m.–10 p.m., Saturday noon–10 p.m., and Sunday noon–5 p.m., with likely extensions." - Candice Woo
