Taiwanese Fried Chicken Chain TKK Opens First Texas Location in Richardson - Eater Dallas
"TKK, a cult-favorite Taiwanese chain known for its crispy fried chicken and cheese curds, has officially opened its doors in Richardson. It debuted yesterday inside the space at 2067 North Central Expressway, Suite 100, that also houses Kung Fu Tea. As reported previously, it’s the first Texas outpost for the chain, which currently operates more than 60 restaurants in Taiwan and beyond, including a New York location in 2018. According to Eater New York critic Robert Sietsema, the chain is a purveyor of “delicious fast food mayhem” thanks to dishes like fried kwa ka bao, a deep-fried sticky rice roll and, of course, the famed fried chicken. At TKK in Richardson, that kwa ka bao is also on the menu, along with a bounty of deep-fried delights like curly fries smothered in bacon and cheese and fried cheese curds. A menu of bubble teas and juices from Kung Fu Tea boasts plenty of options to wash all that down with, like ube shakes loaded down with boba and classic milk tea. From now until October 31, TKK is in “soft-opening” mode, and will be slinging dishes Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday." - Amy McCarthy
