"Shah’s Halal will soon open at 1124 Boylston St., Boston, in a space previously occupied by Crazy Dough’s Pizza, near Berklee College of Music. The restaurant is part of a chain that started as a food cart in Queens, New York, in 2005 and opened its first permanent restaurant in 2016. It has expanded to include 10 permanent locations and several carts in New York, with plans to expand to Boston and London. The restaurants are certified halal by the Halal Food Council U.S.A. The Boston location will feature the same menu as New York, including gyros, rice dishes with chicken, falafel, kofta, fish, lamb, hummus, and Philly cheesesteaks. The recipes are family recipes, and the food caters to everyone." - Terrence Doyle
