"It's been three years since the lights officially went out at Louis’ Diner, the 83-year-old restaurant perched on the cliff above Ocean Beach; the family that had run the place for decades announced in summer 2020 that the pandemic made it unfeasible to reopen after the March closure. At the time the National Park Service, which owns the building (as well as the nearby Cliff House space), said it wasn't sure what it would do with the location, and now a Request for Proposal to find an operator is reportedly forthcoming — though the building is not up to current code and would need additional modifications if a future restaurant wanted to expand the space." - Lauren Saria
