"Once a high-profile San Diego IPA maker known for its signature Sculpin IPA and nationwide grocery and bodega distribution, this brewery produced roughly 200,000 barrels per year and was sold to a major beverage company for about $1 billion in 2015. Under corporate ownership it appears to have overexpanded—closing three facilities and canceling a planned San Francisco brewpub—and was ultimately divested, with about 560 employees and multiple retail locations transferred to a much smaller buyer." - Caleb Pershan
