"Opening Wednesday, January 5 at 11 a.m., I learned that the Nashville area gets its first Whataburger when the new Hermitage location at 5055 Old Hickory Blvd opens; it's the area's first new drive-thru and dine-in fast-food restaurant and brings the cult-favorite Texas chain's menu — breakfast all day, customizable burgers, honey barbecue chicken strip sandwiches, honey butter chicken biscuits, and plenty of fries with spicy and fancy ketchup — to eastern Davidson County. Many longtime fans had their breakfast taquito and fancy-ketchup–slathered cheeseburger hopes dashed in 2017, but the brand says Nashvillians will have eight locations within the coming year (none appear to be inside Nashville city limits), and sponsorships and celebration events with the Tennessee Titans and Nashville Sounds are planned. Founded in 1950 by Harmon Dobson in Corpus Christi, Whataburger now has over 870 locations across Texas and 13 other states, and most locations operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week." - Delia Jo Ramsey
