"The exterior of the Diamond Restaurant — the name written in bright red cursive against a brick building — is just asking to be photographed (and probably has been since 1945). While there are a fair share of booths, bar seats, and tables inside, the front outdoor patio that looks out on Commonwealth is the place to be. The menu has some random Greek-leaning items like a mezze and gyro platter and a feta-heavy Greek salad, but definitely stays true to its divey, North Carolina roots with a pimento cheese sandwich and plenty of burger and dog options. Arguably, the best bites on the menu are the sides — fried okra, hushpuppies, and naturally, collard greens." - Kayleigh Ruller
