"Chef David Castro Hussong’s boozy brunch spot hasn’t missed a beat since moving into a verdant, brick and mortar space inside Mercado Bruma featuring large wood support beams on the ceiling and an inlaid brick floor with indoor trees. Start with fresh baked cochinitos, conchas, or Breton kouign-amann filled with dulce de leche from chef Maribel Aldaco’s Bruma bakery right next door. Those who still have room might go for a croissant stuffed with sea urchin, a pair of shrimp burritos alongside a pinch bowl of salsa verde, or black bean and cheese molletes with pico de gallo and sprigs of purslane on homemade bread. For wine, a creamy Plan B chardonnay made by oenologist Lulú Martínez Ojeda, or her floral sparkling wine, La Vedette, an afternoon charmer to sip with tablemates as the children play outside in the garden." - Bill Esparza
