"An iconic New York City burger chain is seeking approval to open a Downtown Crossing restaurant at 322 Washington St. this fall; I was told the proposed 3,000-square-foot space would serve the chain’s familiar burgers, crinkle-cut fries and frozen custards, could possibly serve breakfast (including sausage, egg, and cheese sandwiches), and might operate unusually long hours (potentially 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.). The concretes will feature some local purveyors, and five percent of sales from one concrete will go to charity. Founded by Danny Meyer, the growing chain—which hit its 100th store in 2016—already has a Boston presence (including a Seaport District location and spots in Chestnut Hill, Back Bay’s Newbury Street, Cambridge’s Harvard Square and Legacy Place in Dedham) and has additional locations planned nearby." - Dana Hatic
