"Opening its fourth San Diego cafe in La Mesa this morning, the local roaster has set up shop in a 500-square-foot, ground-floor space with a generously sized patio. I'm reporting that the cafe will serve single-origin pour-overs, cold brew on nitro, and specialty drinks ranging from a Salted Maple Latte to The Champ (espresso, steamed milk, honey, and cinnamon); new to La Mesa are Liege-style waffles offered in both sweet and savory options alongside Dark Horse’s vegan doughnut line from Skinny Donuts. Open Monday–Friday 6:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m. and Saturday–Sunday 7 a.m.–7 p.m., this outpost builds on followings at North Park, Normal Heights, and Golden Hill while the company has upgraded to a 35-kilo Loring roaster, expanded wholesale through a partnership with Joyride Coffee Distributors, and is planning additional locations including Koloa, Hawaii and a spot at Garden Grove’s SteelCraft food hall." - Candice Woo
