"This four-year-old ice cream shop opened its third location in Berkeley at 3977 Tennyson Street, expanding from its Park Hill start in 2014 and its presence at Denver Central Market and an ice cream truck. Customers can expect familiar flavors such as Tin Cup whiskey with pistachio brittle, cookies (three ways) and cream, and salted caramel, plus new spring flavors like sunflower with lemon, bananas and honey, and violet with lime cookies. Cake-like (but cake-free) French ice cream bombes are available for special order, and sodas, malts, and milkshakes are for sale. The storefront is marked by a black-and-white awning above a wooden bench; inside it’s a modern soda fountain with penny tile, exposed brick, and blonde wood booths. Husband-and-wife owners Erika Thomas and Chad Stutz started High Point Creamery in 2014; Stutz told Thomas it was “a really happy business” and that “it’s hard to have a bad day in an ice cream shop,” with the worst thing being someone dropping a scoop. The new shop officially opens Friday at 4 p.m. with buy-one-get-one ice cream specials until 6 p.m., and regular hours will be 1–9 p.m. Monday–Thursday, noon–9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon–9 p.m. Sundays; another High Point is set to open this summer at Denver Central Market in the airport." - Josie Sexton
