"Located in the 33,000-square-foot Golden Spring Plaza at Spring Mountain Road and Duneville Street, this Japanese-style tapas (izakaya) and sake bar opened with a grand opening on September 1 and is led by the former operator of a very low-key Tempura Express that operated inside a Honolulu grocery store. The tight, shareable menu — billed as traditional Japanese dishes, regional specialties, and homemade cuisine with a modern flair — features cold tofu topped with ikura, miso cheese, or roast pork; grilled mackerel; a salmon baguette; salmon and scallop carpaccio; a short selection of sushi and sashimi; garlic fried rice; three kinds of chazuke; and tuna katsu, along with a range of sakes. Dine-in, takeout, and delivery are available; hours are Tuesday–Thursday and Sunday 5–10 p.m., and Friday–Saturday 5 p.m.–midnight." - Susan Stapleton
