"Wedged into the flatiron intersection of Grand River and Cass Avenue inside the G.A.R. Building, I found Parks & Rec Diner, a breakfast joint that's been churning out chef-driven morning pick-me-ups for just shy of nine months. Classic dishes like crepes and cinnamon rolls are upgraded with thoughtful, pretty presentations and elevated flavors: sliced black pepper bread — a family recipe introduced by chef Sarah Welch — is grilled, Perry plates a dollop of soft, delicately flavored burrata dusted with black pepper, and he gently tosses a small arugula salad with salt, fennel, oil, and bright orange marmalade; after toasting the bread it's finished with a thin coat of fennel puree, resulting in a light, fresh breakfast that's as attractive as it is delicious." - Eater Staff
