"Marking the solstice with a day-long grand opening on Friday, June 21, the new taproom from Lost Druid Brewery in Avondale Estates held a ribbon-cutting at 11:30 a.m. and began pouring beer at noon. I noted that the brewery features 20 taps — 12 of those taps connected directly to brew tanks visible via a glass wall behind a 40-plus-foot-long bar — with beers that include an “old world” imperial stout, a mild ale, a German dark lager, and an American-style IPA. The kitchen from executive chef Chantel Mines serves snacks such as bacon-and-salt pretzels, a charcuterie and cheese board, Margherita flatbread pizzas, plum and hickory-smoked wings, and brats; there’s also a wood-aging facility, an upstairs mezzanine for private events, and dog-friendly patios in the front and back. Lost Druid says it’s family-friendly, encourages locals to walk or bike (several bike racks are installed), and lists hours as Sunday 12:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.; Monday–Thursday 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.; and Friday and Saturday 11:30 p.m. to 12 a.m." - Beth McKibben
