Tacos del Barrio and The Real Boss are two new food truck options in Detroit | Eater Detroit

"Posted up on the empty lot of a car wash at West Vernor Highway at Dix (with a second location at West Vernor and Central), Tacos del Barrio is a growing food-truck operation run by father-and-son Christian and Julián Muñoz. I saw covered outdoor seating, music reverberating through the dining area, and oversized Tamarack chairs painted in the colors of several Latin American flags. The Muñozes own the lots where their trucks sit and operate their own commissary kitchen, staff each truck with employees rather than a single family operator, and have involved staff—such as Alfonso Jimenez—to help develop the menu (including his family recipe for tacos al pastor); the family also spent more than a year perfecting its birria.
