"Set to open at 113 4th Street in Downtown Las Vegas next week, I found Glitter Gulch Tiki introduces a new style of Vegas tiki bar with a dance floor, tropical cocktails, and blowfish lights; created by the Nacho Daddy team with legendary tiki designer Ben Bassham (aka “Bamboo Ben”), the interior is dark and moody with custom straw-thatched booths, bamboo-paneled bar tops, totem-style statues, neon in the ceiling, and glitter embedded in the tables. A row of huts at the rear—crafted by Bamboo Ben and his son Blake Basshem—sits alongside leather-and-glitter seating flanked by carved wooden archways, and the space is performance-ready with a stage, dance floor, and an art window depicting aspects of Las Vegas history. Signature drinks include the Old Jamaican (rum, coconut liqueur, supasawa sour, bitters, coconut flakes, finished with a flamed lime peel) and the What Happens in Vegas (a lychee-puree daiquiri served with dry ice), and the light food menu features coconut shrimp, lumpia, spicy tuna tacos, Dole Whip desserts, and poke nachos with avocado wasabi and mango pico on crispy wonton chips. The name revives the old “Glitter Gulch” nickname with kitschy neon and sparkle, and the bar will be open from 5 p.m. until late Monday through Sunday starting next week." - Janna Karel
